Philosophy – At Dizzy’s Bus Stop Preschool our goal is to foster a love of learning and an environment where kids can master self-reliance, and an “I can do it” attitude. Focusing on fundamental skills such as fine and gross motor development, social and emotional growth enable children to gain a positive sense of self-worth as well as respect for others and their environment. Children learn by doing, which in return builds self-esteem, confidence and understanding of how the world works.
Curriculum – Our curriculum is a discovery-based learning experience that gives each individual child opportunities to move through specially designed learning centers at his or her level of interest and ability. The areas focus on learning basic concepts and skills through hands-on experiences and activities. Children are given tools needed to encourage growth of the “whole” child.
Schedule - The 3’s -5’s Preschool Program runs from 9:00am – 1:30pm, and you choose which days of the week you would like and how many days. There is a 2 day minimum to be enrolled in the preschool program. Every day the children will either play in the Tumbling Room or get a Class on the Tumblebus from 1:00 – 1:30pm.
Flexibility - Dizzy’s Bus Stop is known for flexibility and it continues with our preschool program. You may pick whichever days of the week you want and if you need to make a change during the week we can typically accommodate make-up days throughout the week.
In addition, if you need a little more time beyond our regular preschool hours you can extend your day through our Drop & Go Program in our main facility downstairs. We also offer a variety of extra-curricular classes in the afternoons. Those classes include Spanish, Music, Cooking and Art. Extra-Curricular classes will be held daily from 2:00pm – 3:00pm and the days will be finalized in August before the beginning of the school year. In addition, all children who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2012 can attend our PreK enrichment class which will be held Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1:30 – 3:00pm.
Registration - Registration for currently enrolled families begins in January 2011. Then we open registration to the public in February for the 2011-2012 school year. A non-refundable $75 Registration Fee and completed registration forms will be required to secure your spot.
Dizzy’s Preschool Benefits - When you are enrolled in Dizzy’s Preschool you get the benefits of Membership which includes unlimited Open Play, Discounted Drop & Go, and discounts on other Bus Stop Events such as Camps and Kids Night Out.
Snacks/Meals - We provide a healthy snack around 10:30am. As part of our goal to teach self-reliance during this time, children will set and clear their own plates, serve themselves with utensils as well as pour their own water. We eat lunch at 12:00pm so you will need to pack a healthy lunch for them to enjoy. Please pack it in a lunchbox labeled with their name.
